“Most of the [TLM] professors are active translators, interpreters, and localization managers, so they really know what’s going on in the field and can prepare their students perfectly for their professional careers.”
Magdalena Adam, an international student from Germany, already had a degree in translation when she arrived at the Monterey Institute. She chose to pursue her master's degree in Translation and Localization Management (TLM) in hopes of learning some new skills while at the same time furthering her translation training. Magdalena was drawn to the TLM program at the Monterey Institute because of its great reputation and unique curriculum. She says, “TLM was perfect for me.”
Being an international student, Magdalena enjoys the multicultural experience that MIIS has to offer. She says, “Before I came [to MIIS], I was a little bit worried about all the administrative stuff associated with being an international student in the States. The different offices at MIIS are very helpful, though, and figuratively take you by the hand and help you sort out whatever needs to be sorted out.”
Magdalena has past experience working for a translation agency as a project manager, translator and editor.
