A graduate of the University of Virginia, for the past year Carolyn has been Director of Marketing for an innovation festival in Charlottesville, VA. She coordinates 75 volunteers and a dozen freelancers, plans and promotes over 80 events per festival, and works with over 300 businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies. Having contributed to event-on-event double digit growth for three consecutive festivals, with the most recent drawing 16,646 visits, Carolyn is now launching her own initiative through U.Va.'s Darden School of Business summer accelerator. Her project is called CodeCreate, and it trains novices how to program through a combination of group work, distance learning, and apprenticeships. She is looking to apply her skills in project management, outreach, and technology to distributed, residential solar energy in the developing world.
