Follow Along with Students’ Summer Adventures via the MIIS Abroad Blogs

July 9, 2013

For most Monterey Institute students, summer is the time when they take lessons learned in the classroom out into the world and gain professional experience through internships, jobs, research scholarships, and fellowships. That often means packing those lessons into suitcases for exotic locations and preparing for adventure.

This summer, thirteen Center for the Blue Economy Fellows are off to exciting placements in Europe, the Middle East, South America, China, the Pacific Island and the United States. The Monterey Institute also supports the Frontier Market Scouts, providing students with opportunity to work with social enterprise accelerators on two-month summer assignments around the world. Other programs offer different short-term opportunities and many students find projects through faculty connections and other students. Visit the Study Abroad page on our website for more information about opportunities.

When the students come back in the fall, they are full of stories and new lessons that they share willingly at events and in conversation. We don’t have to wait until they return, though, to get a glimpse of the stories to come—we can do that right now, by following the prolific writers contributing to the MIIS Abroad blogs.
