Scholarships Help Make Summer Dreams a Reality for 45 Students
May 24, 2012
The Monterey Institute of International Studies education extends beyond the classroom and often beyond borders. Our graduate students have the choice to enhance their graduate school experience with various immersive learning opportunities around the world. These experiences and internships are excellence for professional networking in their chosen field and often lead to employment after graduation.
Thanks to the generosity of the Dunspaugh-Dalton Foundation and others, 45 Monterey Institute students received scholarships to support their language and immersive learning experiences in 20 countries this summer. Summer projects include interpreting at the London Olympics, interning at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in Costa Rica, fulfilling temporary assignments at US Commercial Service offices in China, making a documentary on water insecurity in Nicaragua, building business models for farmers in Peru and studying Arabic in Jordan.
We look forward to following the adventures of these and other Monterey Institute students on our online blogging community.
