How many credits would I take each semester? What is the annual schedule?

Fall Entry (Late August): Students who enter the MA in International Education Management program in the fall can expect to take 16 credits in the fall semester, 4 credits in the January term, and 16 credits in the spring semester. This is a rigorous courseload that prepares students for the International Education Management Practicum. Students will begin the 6-credit practicum in early, mid, or late summer depending on the needs of their host organization. Students are expected to complete the practicum and graduate in December.

What does the term "international education" entail?

A wide variety of MA degrees offered in the U.S. use the term “International Education” or “Comparative and International Education.” These programs typically focus on the social, political, historical, cultural, and economic forces that shape delivery of formal education around the world. We use the term International Education in another context – that is the field of international exchange.

Is a master's degree required in the field of international education?

Analysis of the international education field shows increasing professionalization of the field, and the rapidly growing requirement for entry-level professional positions to require master’s degrees.
