CPT is approved per work experience . Once you receive approval, you will receive an I-20 with the work authorization details including the name of the company and approved dates.  You will need to show your employer the third page of the I-20 with CPT authorization to begin working.

What is Curricular Practical Training?

Curricular practical training (CPT) allows you to work off-campus in employment that is an integral or important part of your curriculum.  This can include formal internships with employers who have a cooperative agreement with MIIS or other types of practical experience.  Each CPT application is reviewed and approved based on the connection between the proposed work and the academic program.  The authorization process requires letters from both your potential employer and the  Academic Advisor.
