Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey
What kinds of financial aid packages are available while pursuing the MATESOL degree via the PCMI Program? Are there any graduate research or teaching assistant positions?

There are many scholarships, work-study positions, and graduate assistantships at MIIS. In addition, a large proportion of the students who are U.S. citizens have some kind of financial aid. The tuition is typical of private schools. Also, since MIIS does not have doctoral programs, students who apply for scholarships or graduate assistantships here are not competing with PhD candidates.

Is there financial aid available for the DPMI program?

Partial scholarships are available for students not currently enrolled at the Middlebury Institute or Middlebury College. Email dpmi@miis.edu for information.

Will I need to reapply for financial aid each year?

You must apply for financial aid each year. Please complete both the FAFSA and the Institute Financial Aid application by March 1st - just like last year!

How will the Office of Student Financial Services contact me? Where will my award letter be sent?

We will contact you via the e-mail address reported on the FAFSA application. Please use an e-mail address that you check regularly.  We will use this email address to contact you for additional information and send you additional application materials, as well as the award letter.

After I've completed all that paperwork, what's next?

When you've completed the first two steps of the financial aid application process, we will review the application materials of all admitted students. Generally, we will review your application materials for two weeks before issuing an award letter. However, during peak periods, this process could take longer.
