Current MIIS graduate students pair up with ESL students to support language and culture sharing.

Please note that the format of the Conversation Partner program has changed.

As of 2015, the English Conversation Partner program will pair MIIS ESL students with MIIS graduate students, and English will be the language spoken by the pair.

The goal is to encourage ESL students to develop their conversation skills and to introduce graduate students to new cultures. We regret that we can no longer offer this program as a service to the greater community and thank you for your understanding.

Build expertise with one of the Institute’s unique onsite and online courses.

Professional programs in Translation, Interpretation, and Localization include intensive courses designed for continuing education of working professionals. Customized programs for groups seeking specific skill building and professional development for translators and interpreters are also possible.

Partner and Affiliation Scholarships

Alumni or members of our partner organizations and schools, including the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, City Year, Fulbright, JET and many more, may receive a guaranteed scholarship award as a part of their need-based and merit scholarship awards.

Both U.S. and international students are eligible for merit or need-based scholarships. To apply, submit your application for admission by the next priority deadline. You’ll upload a Personal Scholarship Statement as part of your online application.

We are still accepting applications for fall 2016 on a case-by-case basis.

Spring 2017 Admission:

  • August 15: 1st round deadline
  • September 30: Final deadline for International Students

Spring semester admission is only available for select programs.
