I am really passionate about translation, its history, its philosophy, and its currents implications. I spend most of my time thinking about new ways and strategies to train translators while they develop an esteem towards their future or current profession.
I specialize in English to Spanish translation; I have worked as a freelance translator and translation project manager, and also as a subtitler of different audiovisual products. I am a certified translator by the Peruvian Association of Professional Licensed Translators. Most of my recent work has to do with translator training. As an educator, I have been in charge of the curricular development of an undergraduate translation program in Peru for the last five years and I continue to supervise and coordinate different educational processes. My research interests are audiovisual translation, cultural studies, and LGBT studies. I have experience applying ethnographic methodology, as well as text analysis, and critical discourse analysis.
I have previously worked as a Lecturer in Translation Studies (Universidad Ricardo Palma, Lima, Peru) and as a full-time lecturer in Translation Studies (Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, Lima, Peru).
