Undergrad: Rutgers
Fast Fact: Studied Russian for 10 years
"After graduating from the Monterey Institue, I felt confident in performing any task...putting together a sustainability report, writing a policy analysis, or discussing organic agriculture in Russian."
While working for an organic produce distributor in the Bay Area, Tiffani Jarnigan realized she was interested in an environmental career.
"Working for Veritable Vegetable helped me realize that business is not necessarily the enemy," she said. "Their business model is uniquely structured around environmental and social improvement...after witnessing that first hand, I knew that I wanted to know more."
Tiffani chose the International Environmental Policy program at the Monterey Institute because she wanted a professional skill-based degree.
"Alumni from the IEP program have a lot of great positions with environmental organizations worldwide, which tells me that their unique program prepares their students well," she said.
Tiffani was also attracted by the diversity of the student body at MIIS.
"A large part of learning takes place outside of the classroom," she said. "So it makes sense to surround yourself with well-rounded, experienced peers who can offer their unique perspective and experience."
