Amber Vanderwoude graduated from the Monterey Institue in 2010 with a MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. After graduating, she spent 2011 serving as an English Language Fellow at North West University in Potchefstroom, South Africa. She worked with the Faculty of Education teaching courses on using English as a medium of instruction in the content classroom and teaching reading in the English classroom. She also conducted writing workshops with the English majors and worked with the local Department of Education to provide in-service teachers with training on supporting English Language Learners in their classrooms.
