Kate Bollinger (MAIPS '11) reflects upon the first time she went to Nepal as a college student.
Kate Bollinger: Exploring Nepal for the First Time

Kate Bollinger is a graduate student in International Policy Studies, with a focus on international development and the region of South Asia. Kate already has a master’s degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Oxford, where she pursued field research and language study in India and Nepal. She also traveled to Nepal last summer to promote women’s reproduction rights with the Advocacy Project.
As a current Boren Fellowship recipient, Kate retuned to Nepal this spring to study Nepali and research conservation in the Himalayas.
Kate is also a current participant of our Development Project Management Institute practicum, where she is serving Aspect, a Kathmandu-based NGO. Kate is currently working alongside alumna Izumi Wakugawa (MAIPS '01) at Aspect.
