Yara Terrazas-Carafa: Reflections on the Development Project Management Institute

Yara Terrazas-Carafa, hailing from Bolivia, discusses team aspects from the Development Project Management Institute and how she plans to apply these skills in her future career.
During her junior year at Smith College, Yara studied abroad in Paris, France, where she studied Sociology and Cinema at Paris VII –Denis Diderot. In addition, she completed a six-month internship with SOS Racism, the biggest anti-racism NGO in France.
She has also interned with SETAM in her hometown of La Paz, Bolivia in 2006. Her time working with the grassroots NGO has opened her eyes to the urgent need for clear tools and techniques in order to properly carry out development projects. Yara speaks Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.
The Monterey Institute’s campus community launched a fundraising drive today aimed at supporting relief efforts in area of Japan devastated by the recent earthquake and tsunami.
