Rafael studies sociology, and has received certificates in Latin American Studies and Urban Studies. In the summer of 2007, Rafael lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and worked as a volunteer for the Pan-American Games and Viva-Rio. In summer 2008, he traveled to India where he worked as an Economic Assistant at the Mexican Embassy. Rafael also volunteers for Pa’delante where he teaches English to Spanish-speaking immigrants.
