How to Obtain the I-20 or DS-2019

Certificate of Financial Responsibility (CFR)

A completed CFR (paper CFR or online) is required in order to demonstrates your ability to pay tuition and living expenses.The Monterey Institute is required per U.S. federal regulations to confirm sufficient financial resources for the first academic year of study. The amount required is based on financial estimates from the Financial Aid office Estimate of Average Student Expenses. The CFR is required for all international students who are requesting F-1 or J-1 status from MIIS.  Even if you are fully sponsored, you will still need to complete the CFR before the I-20 or DS-2019 can be issued.  Please read the CFR carefully and complete all sections.
