Cap & Gown Pickup

All cap/gown/tassel orders will be available for pick up in the Office of Alumni Relations located in McGowan (411 Pacific St.) on the third floor beginning the week of December 11th.

Underneath your cap and gown, please dress in business attire. Men are asked to wear a dress shirt and tie; women are asked to wear a dress, skirt or suit. The mortarboard is worn flat and straight on your forehead. For master's candidates, the tassel goes on the left to signify previous possession of an academic degree. For BA degree candidates, the tassel is worn on the right side before the degree is conferred; once the degree is conferred you will change the tassel from the right to the left side. Safety pins and bobby pins will be available but it is best to bring your own if possible.

All Herff Jones regalia items are made out of 100% post-consumer waste and are biodegradable. Please note formal regalia is NOT mandatory for the ceremony; many students opt to wear traditional, cultural dress or appropriate business attire. For any questions related to ordering your regalia, contact student.services@miis.edu.

Cap and Gown Recycle Available

Your cap and gown are yours to keep; however, you may also "donate" them to future graduates. More information on time and place to donate them will be announced shortly.
