Petition to Graduate

The steps to graduate. . . 

1. 
Complete the Petition to Graduate

May/August graduation 2015: due Friday, February 13th.

*December 2015 graduates who will be away from campus for their final semester are eligible to participate in the May 2015 Commencement.  Please submit a petition to graduate to the Records Office as soon as possible.

2. 
Check Degree Requirements
If you believe you have a waived degree requirement please check in Zócalo and confirm with the Records OfficeWaiver of a degree requirement is not a waiver of your credit requirements.

Receive Confirmation of Degree Audit

Records will send you an email confirming that they have completed your final degree audit.

*Please note that all communication regarding commencement will be sent to your @miis email account. If you are forwarding your MIIS emails to another account, please check your junk folder (emails are often sent to multiple students).

4. 
Respond to Confirmation Email
On April 6th, you will receive an email from the Records Office. Your response is required no later than April 17th to confirm your intent to walk in the ceremony, and verify that your name is spelled correctly for the commencement program and your diploma. You will have the option to choose the previous school name for your for your diploma, however, all official transcripts will indicate Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. 
5. 
Settle your MIIS Accounts
Diplomas and official transcripts will not be released to any graduate who has outstanding tuition due, unpaid library fines, or has not completed a Perkins Loan exit interview. 
6. 
Complete an exit interview with financial aid
