Petition to Graduate

The steps to graduate. . .

1.
Complete the Petition to Graduate

The deadline to submit a graduation petition for December 2017 has been extended to Friday, September 22nd.

*May and August 2018 graduates who will be away from campus for their final semester are eligible to participate in the December 2017 Commencement. Please submit a petition to graduate to the Records Office by the due date above.

2.
Check Degree Requirements
If you believe you have a waived degree requirement please check in Zócalo and confirm with the Records Office. Waiver of a degree requirement is not a waiver of your credit requirements.
3.
Receive Confirmation of Degree Audit

 

Records will send you an email confirming that they have completed your final degree audit.

*Please note that all communication regarding commencement will be sent to your @miis email account. If you are forwarding your MIIS emails to another account, please check your junk folder (emails are often sent to multiple students).

4.
Respond to Confirmation Email
You will receive an RSVP email from the Records Office at a later date and your response is required to confirm your intent to walk in the ceremony, and verify that your name is spelled correctly for the commencement program and your diploma. 
5.
Settle your MIIS Accounts

 

Diplomas and official transcripts will not be released to any graduate who has outstanding tuition due, unpaid library fines, or has not completed a Perkins Loan exit interview.
6.
Complete an exit interview with financial aid
