The steps to graduate. . . 

Complete the Petition to Graduate

December graduation 2014: due Friday, September 12th.

*May 2015 graduates who will be away from campus in their final semester are eligible to participate in the December 2014 Commencement.  Please submit a petition to graduate to the Records Office.

Check Degree Requirements
If you believe you have a waived degree requirement please check in Zócalo and confirm with the Records OfficeWaiver of a degree requirement is not a waiver of your credit requirements.
Respond to Confirmation Email
Approximately 6 weeks prior to the commencement ceremony you will receive an email from the Records Office. Please respond no later than November 14th to confirm that you intend to walk in the ceremony, and that your name is spelled correctly for the commencement program and your diploma. 
Settle your MIIS Accounts
Diplomas and official transcripts will not be released to any graduate who has outstanding tuition due, unpaid library fines, or has not completed a Perkins Loan exit interview. 
Complete an exit interview with financial aid
Receive Confirmation of Degree Audit
Records will send you an emailing confirming that they have completed your final degree audit.
*Please note that all communication regarding commencement will be sent to your @miis email account.  If you are forwarding your MIIS emails to another account check your junk folder, (emails are often sent to multiple students).
