- Enrolling in our Student Health Insurance Plan or waiving out of our Plan is required each semester. Enrolling or waiving must be done by 4pm on the first day of classes to avoid incurring a $100 penalty.
- Students taking six or more units in the fall or spring semester, or four or more units in a summer program are required to have health insurance.
- Students have the option of finding private health insurance or enrolling in our Student Health Insurance Plan.
- If you find private health insurance, you can waive out of our Plan.
- If you waive out of the Institute's Student Health Insurance Plan, private health insurance is mandatory and must be in effect - not a pending application - by 4 p.m. on the first day of classes (each semester) in order to avoid incurring a $100 penalty.
To Enroll in the Monterey Institute Insurance Plan for the Fall, Spring or Summer terms**:
**Students who are here for short programs only and need the plan on a monthly basis, will need to enroll using the "monthly" enrollment form. Monthly enrollments to this plan cannot be completed online. You must submit this form along with payment by regular mail to: Wells Fargo of California Insurance Services, Inc., 11017 Cobblerock Drive, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670. Monthly enrollment forms can be obtained in the Student Affairs Office or from your short term program coodinator.
