Information Sessions for International Student Applicants

Beginning April 16, 2007, the Office of International Services (OIS) will begin holding online pre-arrival information sessions for international student applicants. 

The one-hour session will include the following information:

  1. General information on OIS.
  2. I-20 and visa.
  3. Transfer Student procesures.
  4. What to expect at the airport.

The session will be held in Elluminate. Elluminate is a dynamic web conferencing tool that integrates text, audio, and video communication.

New OPT Regulations

On April 8, 2008, DHS published the interim final rule that changes several key aspects of F-1 optional practical training (OPT). The rule is effective April 8, 2008. There will be an informational meeting held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 12:30 to 1:30 in Morse B104 to discuss these new changes. Any international students who are graduating in the next six months and want to work in the U.S. should plan to attend this meeting.
