The Intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) Program has five eight-week sessions each year, with 21 hours of classroom instruction each week. Most students continue in the program for several sessions, developing their communicative and linguistic abilities as they continue. Students take skills classes in reading and writing, oral communication, and grammar. In addition, students take elective courses. All of the instructors in the program hold Masters degrees in the teaching of a second language, and are committed, energetic professionals.
