Andan Al-Hammody MATESOL ‘13 accepted a new position working in the Foundation Program (EFL) Department of English at Qatar University in Doha.
Mari Morooka MATESOL ‘19 published her first academic paper, titled “Reflective Practice of Research Writing Instruction: Suggestions Drawn from Critical Incident Analysis.”
Drs. Akihiko Sasaki MATESOL ‘19 and Osamu Takeuchi MATESOL ‘92 respectively published a co-authored chapter in a new book from Bloomsbury titled “Study Abroad from Home: Development of L2 Learner Autonomy in an Unprecedented Online Program during the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
Randi Freeman MATESOL ‘95 is currently serving on the executive committee of MEAC: Multilingual Education Advisory Committee for the Office of Public Instruction (OSPI) of Washington, which is changing the regulations around providing education to MLs in the state. She also participates in an Eastern WA teacher leaders professional learning community around using WIDA standards.
Kukjin Cheon MATFL–Korean ‘22 accepted a position teaching Korean at Howard University in Washington, DC.

Claire Eagle MATFL–French ‘16 accepted a new position as Curriculum Specialist in the Curriculum Support Division under the Directorate of Educational Technology and Development with the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, CA.
Jennifer Uhler MATESOL ‘05 won the Lois Roth award. She is the first Foreign Service Specialist to win this award.
Cameron Chien MATFL–Chinese ‘15 helped his students at North Salinas (CA) High School publish a book in Japanese called “Our American Stories: Volume 2.” Read more about this meaningful project.
Eunhye (Grace) Cho MATFL–Korean ‘22 accepted a position teaching Korean at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, CA.
Adrienne Matunas MATESOL ‘13 was accepted to the linguistics PhD program at the University of Victoria, British Columbia.
Dee Doucette MATESOL ‘16 accepted a position as an ESL instructor for Project Learn, which is an adult education program run by Community Care Alliance of Rhode Island. She has been helping with community outreach and curriculum development in order to grow the program.
Maggie Kwasnik MATFL–French + TESOL Specialization ‘22 accepted a French teaching position at Walpole (MA) High School.
Kristen Tuttle MATESOL + LPA Specialization ‘22 accepted a position as GEAR UP Project Coordinator through the Center for Educational Outreach at the University of Michigan.
Austin Cashwell MATESOL ‘21 accepted an English language arts teaching position at The Lab School in Washington, DC.
