WAYS TO GIVE

Annual Fund | Major Gifts | Gift Planning | Acknowledging Generosity | Supporting Scholarships

The Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Scholarship enabled me to return to graduate school after two years in the Peace Corps. In a "for-profit" world, scholarships such as the one offered make it possible for us to work in the non-profit world to advance international development and protect basic human rights.

THE GIFT OF EDUCATION:
SUPPORTING STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

No one can make the case for scholarship support more strongly than the students who depend upon it. Click here to meet just a few of the students whose education is supported by the generosity of Institute donors.

Over 80% of Monterey students receive some form of financial aid, including scholarship grants, loans, and part-time campus work. The Institute provides comprehensive financial aid totaling more than $4 million each year. Your generosity will help build the investment in these committed students of unlimited potential but limited income.

Please consider the following ways to give the gift of education through scholarship support:

  • Your gift of $2,500 a year, added to the gifts of other leadership donors, will support Founders' Scholarships. Reserved for the Institute's strongest and most extraordinary students, Founders Scholarships are awarded annually on the basis of academic strength, experience, and financial need. Donors are included in Founder's Circle gatherings, including an annual reception with the students who have been chosen for this unusual recognition.

  • Your gift of $10,000 a year will provide scholarship grants for one or more students through an individual, named fund. Scholarship awards may be made in the donor's name or in the name of a loved one or honored individual. Donors may also specify a particular geographic area or field of study for student eligibility. Members of the Founders' Circle, scholarship benefactors at this level receive an annual update on the academic work and activities of scholarship recipients

  • Your gift of $25,000 a year provides a full scholarship for an Institute student of unusual promise or financial need, including international students who do not qualify for U.S. federal loan programs. These special scholarships are designed individually, in close consultation with donors and the Institute scholarship committee to support the recruitment of highly sought-after students, to build U.S. and international diversity, and to attract students from developing countries who could not otherwise attend a U.S. institution.

  • Donors who contribute or pledge $10,000/year for four years ($40,000) or $25,000/year for four years ($100,000) underwrite the education of two student scholars across the term of their Institute education. You will receive annual updates on the academic work and activities of the scholars you support. You will also have the opportunity to attend the Commencement celebration, knowing that the student walking across the graduation platform does so because of your sustained generosity.
