I've always felt that the profile of the Monterey Institute student is that of a risk-taker, someone who's going to develop international skills, then go out in the world and do something with them— and we need more people like that. "The graduate students who come to the Monterey Institute — whether they're oriented toward business, international policy, language education, or translation and interpretation — are committed to careers that will have positive impacts across boundaries, languages, and cultures.
"Approximately one-third of our students are international, representing citizens from over 70 countries, and over 95 percent of our U.S.-born students have international experience. At the Institute, they're empowered by a rich diversity of learning opportunities — through interaction with fellow students and with faculty, nearly half of whom come from outside the United States, and all of whom have significant international experience in their fields.
