There are many ways to make a gift to the Monterey Institute. This page will help you determine which option is right for you.
All donations to the Monterey Institute are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. The Monterey Institute's legal name is President and Fellows of Middlebury College and its federal tax identification number is 03-0179298.

With the automatic giving option, you can spread your contribution over the course of a year—or longer. Once you’ve decided on the amount, determine the frequency—monthly, quarterly, or annually. Simply fill out the online giving page and check “I want this to be a recurring gift.”
Checks should be mailed to Gift Administration, check date and USPS postmarked no later than June 30 or December 31. Checks sent by FedEx, UPS or other overnight carriers will be effective as of the date received at Middlebury College, NOT the date sent by donor, per IRS regulations. If you would like to restrict your gift to a specific designation, please specify your gift designation on the memo line of your check.
Make your gift by credit or debit card today by visiting our secure online giving page. Credit card gifts may be made online any time before 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) on June 30 (for our fiscal year end deadline) or December 31 (for calendar year end) through our secure web site. You may prefer to make your gift online or by telephone to avoid delays and help assure your credit card gift is procssed in time to count for participation in our fiscal year end or calendar year end tax purposes. If mailing your credit card gift, it must be received by Middlebury College’s Gift Administration office one day prior to the fiscal or calendar year end deadline. Wire Transfers must also be received by our bank on or before this deadline.
Donor Advised Fund Gifts
A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a philanthropic vehicle established at a public charity. It allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax benefit and then recommend grants from the fund over time.

Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds
When you make a gift of appreciated securities to the Monterey Institute, you'll often receive a significant tax benefit in the year you make the donation and avoid the capital gains tax you would have to pay if you sold the securities. These tax savings mean that you can give more to the Monterey Institute with a gift of appreciated securities instead of cash, while the cost to you remains the same. Combined Federal Campaign
As of fall 2010, the Monterey Institute is a registered organization with the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC #44979). If you are employed by the U.S. Government, you can make a charitable contribution to the Monterey Institute during the CFC season (September 1 - December 15). Staff and Faculty Payroll Deduction
Through the Staff and Faculty Payroll Deduction Program, you can easily translate a small monthly donation into a sizable gift. For example:
$5 x 26 pay periods = $130 for MIIS
$10 x 26 pay periods = $260 for MIIS
$25 x 26 pay periods = $650 for MIIS
Fill out the Payroll Deduction Agreement on the MIIS Employee Resources webpage, sign, and submit to the HR office. You’ll receive confirmation once your gift is processed.
