Since graduating in 2010 with a MA in Translation & Localization Management, life has been a whirlwind tour for Dustin Brumley. He's started his own business, moved around the world and married fellow MIIS alum Amaia Zaballa Zarzosa (MA in Conference Interpretation).
After first graduating, Dustin worked for Silicon Valley-based Communicaid, first here in California and then as a teleworker from the Canary Islands in Spain. But in November of 2010, Dustin decided he wanted to shift gears and focus on editing and translating. So, he and Amaia started their own translation and localization business, Z Squared Language Services.
In July of 2011, Dustin and Amaia tied the knot. At the ceremony, staying true to their roots, they had the entire ceremony translated and interpreted by fellow MIIS alums.
In August, the happy couple was on the move again, this time for Amaia who received a position as an in-house, English into Spanish translator in The Hague for The International Baccalaureate.
Dustin stays busy by working as a freelancing translator and editor and running Z Squared. He is also continuing his education in French and he's planning on writing an e-book on freelancing from abroad.
