Shirley Coly

Director of Development

Shirley oversees fundraising strategy and operations for the Office of Advancement, working in close collaboration with colleagues in Vermont. She also works with friends and alumni in the area who wish to invest in students, faculty, and programs at the Institute through their philanthropic giving.

During her 20 years of fundraising, Shirley has worked for a variety of nonprofit organizations including the Colorado School of Mines, CSU Monterey Bay, the Big Sur Land Trust, and most recently, York School. Her experience also includes several years working on health communication projects funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Shirley earned her bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Utah and then served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal, West Africa. Following her service, she completed a master’s degree at Georgetown University.
