The Office of International Services

We support the Institute's international students and scholars.

The Office of International Services for International Students and Scholars (OIS) plays a key role in the Institute's committment towards building an international campus by providing support to all foreign nationals in the MIIS community with immigration and visa information.

OIS serves three main constituencies:

  • degree or non-degree seeking international students in the U.S. in F-1 or J-1 status.
  • visiting staff, faculty or researchers.
  • MIIS departments interested in hiring foreign nationals.

OIS should be the first stop for current and accurate advising in the area of immigration procedures and visa acquisition.

Letter Request OIS provides letters of support for students when applying for an SSN, driver license, or visas.
Certificate of Financial Responsibility New students need to complete the CFR in order to get an I-20 or DS-2019 to apply for the F-1 or J-1 visa.
