ALUMNI HIGHLIGHTS

Pamela Lirio

In a ground-breaking new study examining the issues facing successful women in the Americas, Pamela Lirio, Fisher Graduate School of International Business, alumnus '92, has published "Exploring career-life success and family social support of successful women in Canada, Argentina and Mexico." The study was featured in Career Development International, an academic journal dedicated to the study of career development in an international forum. Lirio, along with authors Lituchy, Monserrat, Olivas-Lujan, Duffy, Fox, Gregory, Punnett, and Santos, examined issues successful women in the Americas face in their lives and careers. The research highlights the experiences of women with successful careers in the Americas, and reveals the varying values they use to measure success.

Lirio earned her MBA in International Business Administration in 1992 from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and her bachelor's degree in Communications and French from Boston College in 1990. After graduating from the Monterey Institute, she pursued an international finance career with, among others, Reuters, Ltd in Stamford, Connecticut. Currently she is a member of the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where she is currently a Ph. D candidate in Organizational Behavior, expected in 2008.
