The Monterey Institute of International Studies campus is located in the heart of historic Old Monterey with easy access to many restaurants, shops and tourist attractions.
Campus facilities include lecture halls, high-tech classrooms, seminar rooms, research centers, and labs wired for the latest technology. The main auditorium is electronically equipped to handle simultaneous interpretation in four languages. The student center airs satellite news broadcasts from throughout the world.
The Institute’s library has more than 78,000 volumes, periodicals in more than 30 languages and access to global language, policy, and business resources through extensive computer databases and inter-library loan agreements.
The Institute does not provide student housing, but ample housing is available very close to the campus and many students walk or bike to classes. The San Francisco Bay Area is approximately two hours to the north by freeway, and the Big Sur Coast is 30 minutes south. Maps and driving directions are available to help you find your way.
Supportive Institute staff are available to help make your Monterey stay pleasant and productive.
