“As a small, grassroots non-profit, it is nearly impossible to quantify the enormous impact we have received from having MIIS interns as part of our team. Qualifying the impact of their value added to process and productivity, as well as quality relationships, can easily be summed up in one word: PRICELESS! Investing in our collective future through this opportunity has extremely high return on investment."
Kathi Speller, Executive Director, Community of Caring Monterey Peninsula

Twenty-five Monterey Institute students are taking part in a year-long development practicum experience that includes a fall semester course on policy analysis and project design, a research trip to Peru in January, and a spring semester course focused on data analysis and crafting a final report.
When Monterey Institute alumna Lucy Jodlowska needed to hire people with international business skills, cultural sensitivity and high language proficiency for an important project in Nicaragua, she knew where to look: “I wanted the whole package and knew I could find it at MIIS.”
Alumni Anne-Claire Benoit (MPA ’12), Kathleen Gordon (MPA ’12), and Bill Reinecke (MBA ’10) were chosen for one-year assignments in Africa from hundreds of qualified applicants for the very selective Catholic Relief Services Fellowships.
