Degree Tracks
Our Master of Arts in International Policy program offers three degree tracks: Conflict Resolution, Development, and Trade. Browse the information below to learn more about possible careers in each of these fields.
Conflict Resolution
- Mediators in court systems, government agencies and in private practice.
- Professionals who conduct research and advocacy to bring light to particular conflicts, working for grassroots community organizations, international nongovernmental organizations, or intergovernmental organizations.
- Peacebuilding specialists in nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), government agencies and intergovernmental organizations.
Development
- Research and advocacy, policy development, and project/program management positions in grassroots community organizations, international nongovernmental organizations, or intergovernmental organizations.
- Government officials working in various bureaus, ministries and departments that address domestic and international development policy.
Trade
- Career professionals working in international organizations which focus on global trade policy, regulatory issues, trade agreements and investment. Examples of such organizations include the World Trade Organization (WTO), the World Bank and the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), along with a range of others.
- Government officials working in various bureaus, ministries and departments that address trade policy and its impact on issues such as the environment, labor, security, agriculture and international development.
- Country directors and corporate managers for large companies assigned to work in the nexus between global businesses, inter and intra governmental negotiations, policy advocacy, media management and government relations.
- Senior and Mid-level Managers in business, NGO’s and trade associations impacted by the outcomes of international trade policy.
