Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Many businesses today embrace the triple bottom line: People, Planet, and Profit. Corporate social responsibility professionals design and implement policies that not only ensure effective day-to-day business practices, but promote environmental, human rights, and community development goals. This integrated approach seeks to win the endorsement of key stake-holders such as employees, consumers, and investors.

Entrepreneurship and Consulting

Entrepreneurs identify and seize market opportunities to promote innovative approaches and new outcomes. They often accept high levels of personal, professional, and financial risk to pursue their goals. Consultants provide advice to firms who need access to a scope of expertise outside of their own company. To launch such careers, you need creative spirit, effective management skills, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Finance and Accounting

Professionals in these fields are responsible for the overall financial management of a company. To become a Certified Public Account (CPA), for example, you must pass an exam and meet education and experience requirements. Finance positions include corporate finance, international finance, and financial analysis. They encompass industries such as financial services, banking, venture capital, and socially responsible investing.

Marketing and Sales

Sales and marketing professionals design, develop, and implement strategies associated with driving awareness of a company and its products and services. You may analyze the current business environment and identify future market opportunities for new products, services, and customers. Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills are recommended for these positions.

Sustainable Business

Sustainable businesses strive to have no negative impact on the global or local environment, community, society, or economy. As a sustainable development professional, you may design products and deliver services that will improve the current environmental situation or assess how well a company's products perform with renewable resources.
