Advising Philosophy

Kate Battiato helps students from the International Policy Studies program transform the knowledge and skills gained through a rigorous program of advanced professional training into success in a competitive employment market.


Kate has a wide breadth of professional experience in the non-profit, government, and private sectors, including serving as a corporate recruiter for the Madison, WI-based software company, Epic. Prior to joining MIIS,  She was the career development coordinator for the La Follette School of Public Affairs at University of Wisconsin – Madison, a legislative aide at the Wisconsin State Capitol and a policy consultant with the Wisconsin Association of School Boards.

Kate is a proud "Double Badger" and holds a master of public affairs degree from the La Follette School and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
