Center for Advising & Career Services
We provide students and alumni customized advising and professional development services, empowering them to maximize their Monterey Institute experience and fulfill their academic and professional goals.
Services We Offer
A decision to attend the Monterey Institute reflects a strong commitment to both personal and professional growth. Our purpose is to partner with students to ensure success during a student’s time at the Institute, while preparing for the first post-graduation position and throughout one’s continued career progression as an alumnus of the Institute. We are committed to building collaborative relationships, grounded in mutual respect and trust.
Each semester, we run workshops focused on professional development fundamentals, including self-assessment, networking, resume development, cover letter writing and interviewing. Students emerge with a practical toolkit for succeeding in the job search, as well as a deeper sense of how they can “be the solution.”
Students are assigned an academic and career advisor based on their program of interest. We view advising as a coaching relationship focused on fostering student learning and professional development. Students are also welcome to meet with any member of our team and with their faculty for further guidance.
Employer representatives visit the campus throughout the academic year, whether in-person or virtually. We will be holding an Institute-wide career fair in the Spring for students in all degree programs. Check out our events calendar to stay apprised of career-related activities on campus.
Job and internship opportunities for students and alumni are accessible via our online database, Zócalo.
