As a member of the Monterey Institute of International Studies community, you are part of a far-flung group of very unusual people.
The most visible part of the Monterey Institute of International Studies community is the nearly 1,000 people who study, teach and work here – students and professors who hail from nearly 60 countries worldwide. But they are only the tip of the iceberg. Our true community is the far larger group of people and institutions who understand the Institute’s value to the world and share its aspirations and hopes.
They include over 7,800 alumni of the four graduate schools, along with their families, their employers, colleagues and students, all of whom have benefited from the Monterey Institute’s educational achievements. Our neighbors on the Monterey Peninsula and throughout California have always been loyal supporters and enthusiastic boosters. And in a larger sense, the entire world has a stake in the Monterey Institute’s contribution to world peace through its Center for Nonproliferation Studies and its preparation of personnel for the “peace professions” of diplomacy, humanitarian relief, translation and interpretation, and education.
We support and encourage dialogue, networking and participation from our entire worldwide community. Whether you are an alumnus, a friend or a neighbor, please make yourself known to the community through our on-campus events and online facilities.
