What are your favorite places to study, hang out, and get outdoors in Monterey?

I love the Fisherman's Wharf when the congestion of people is a little calmed down and I enjoy hiking and camping around the area.

What internships or jobs have you had while attending MIIS?

I am currently involved with the ambassador team as the lead ambassador and social media manager.

What are your career aspirations?

Being an immigrant to the U.S. and having the opportunity to travel some of this magnificent world, I have realized that education is the key ingredient to human development. The MA in International Education Management master's program is the ideal pathway to link my passions to a profession. My career aspiration is to direct a study abroad office, whether it may take place in the U.S. or abroad. After much experience is gained, I plan to start my own study abroad program that focuses on university students who truly want to immerse themselves in different languages and cultures. Also, I hope to establish sister universities between the U.S. and Colombia and expand international education opportunities to all.

Do you have a personal mantra or quote you live by?

"We’re here for an instant in an eternity, and all that really matters is what we do with that time." -Dianne Feinstein

"A friend once told me: The best journeys answer questions that in the beginning, you didn’t even think to ask.” -Jeff Johnson

Fun fact about you...

Until the age of 10, I had an accent in English.

If I was a food, I would be...?

I would be a guama, because it is a hidden treasure to most and once you know where to find this exotic fruit, you fall in love with its tastiness and the location where it is found.

What has been the highlight of your MIIS experience thus far?

The highlight of my MIIS experience so far is how precise my program is to my career interest.

Anything else you want to include?

My favorite song of all time is Pokito a Poko, Cambao.
