To assist veterans with their educational goals, we have enrolled in the Yellow Ribbon Program, part of the Post-9/11 GI Bill. The Monterey Institute and the Veterans Administration (VA) will guarantee complete tuition payment for up to 75 eligible veterans each academic year to attend one of our world-class degree programs.
If you are eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program, please contact the one of our financial aid counselors after you have been admitted, as we will make awards based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Your total award is based on the number of credits registered. Based on 12 credits, you will be provided with the following funds:
|Up front payment by VA||$19,198.31|
|Monterey Institute contribution||$7,885.85|
|VA matched contribution||$7,885.85|
Please note that if you were awarded a Monterey Institute merit scholarship, it will be forfeited when you receive veterans' benefits through the Yellow Ribbon program.
We have agreed to accept up to 75 veterans per academic year. Awards will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. We accept applications on a rolling basis to our bachelor's and master's programs for fall or spring semester. Learn how to apply >>
All admitted applicants to the Monterey Institute are considered for merit-based scholarships. These awards generally range from $4,000 to $16,000 per academic year. Since our maximum scholarship offering is less than the benefits available through the Yellow Ribbon Program, you will be considered for the Yellow Ribbon program first. Merit scholarships will be forfeited if you receive veterans' benefits.
Admitted veterans who do not receive Yellow Ribbon Program funds will receive special consideration for our merit-based scholarships.
The Yellow Ribbon program will not cover the Monterey Institute’s activity fees, which are $56 per semester. The veteran will be responsible for these fees.
