About

The Monterey Institute and World Teach are partnering to provide scholarships to qualified alumni. Candidates who demonstrate their commitment to service through World Teach programs are recognized and valued through this partnership with the Monterey Institute. Eligibility

World Teach alumni qualify for the scholarship if they meet certain eligibility criteria:

  1. World Teach alumni must meet the requirements for admission to Monterey Institute degree programs.
  2. Applicants are required to have completed their World Teach service by the time of enrollment, though they may be currently serving during the time of application.

Application Process

Monterey Institute Merit Scholarships are available to World Teach alumni as a result of a partnership between the Institute and World Teach, and due to the language skills and intercultural competencies of World Teach alumni. To apply and receive preferential consideration:

  1. Submit your completed application for admission to a degree program plus all support documents including transcripts, test scores, letters of recommendation, resume and statement of purpose by the priority scholarship deadline. For Fall semester there are three rounds of scholarship selection: December 1, February 1, and March 1. For Spring semester the priority deadline is October 1. Apply online by one of our scholarship deadlines.
  2. Please also submit a separate written statement (100-200 words) to enroll@miis.edu that includes the following: Organization or school where you taught (including location)
    Dates of service
    Short description of what you did in that position
