Middlebury Institute Scholarships

Both U.S. and international students are eligible for merit or need-based scholarships. To apply, submit your application for admission by the next priority scholarship deadline. You'll upload a Personal Scholarship Statement as part of your online application.

Summer Language Scholarships

Do you need to boost your language skills or learn a new language in preparation for your master’s degree program? If you’re an admitted student, you may qualify for a summer language scholarship to attend one of our world-renowned Middlebury language programs.

$10,000 Legacy Scholarships

We offer guaranteed $10,000 Legacy Scholarships for Middlebury alumni and their extended family members. You may also receive merit or need-based scholarship awards in addition to a Legacy Scholarship.

Partner or Affiliation Scholarships

If you are an alumnus/a or member of one of our partner organizations, you may receive a guaranteed scholarship in addition to our need-based and merit scholarship awards. Applicants who qualify for multiple partnership or affiliation scholarships will be awarded the largest single scholarship or a combination of scholarships with a combined total value not to exceed 50% of tuition.

Peace Corps: Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program

  • For Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs)
  • Guaranteed scholarship of $32,000 for a four semester program

Peace Corps Master's International Programs

  • For students combining their master's program with Peace Corps service
  • Guaranteed scholarship covering at least 50% of tuition your final semester


  • For alumni of AmeriCorps VISTA, NCCC and State & National programs
  • Segal Education Award matching for up to the maximum award of $5,730 each year
  • Preferential scholarship consideration

Veterans' Benefits: Yellow Ribbon Program

  • Full tuition coverage for up to 75 eligible veterans each year through the Yellow Ribbon Program
  • Preferential consideration for merit or need-based scholarships for veterans who aren't using benefits to fund their graduate education
