We offer a wide variety of scholarship opportunities for applicants to our master's and bachelor's degree programs. These opportunities include merit scholarships, summer language scholarships and scholarships related to service in the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Fulbright, JET and more!

Merit Scholarships

Both U.S. and international students are eligible for Monterey Institute Merit Scholarships to our master's and bachelor's degree programs. You will automatically be considered for a merit scholarship, if you submit your application by one of our priority scholarship deadlines. No additional application materials are required.

Monterey Institute Merit Scholarships

Monterey Institute Merit Scholarships range between $4,000 to $16,000 per year. The next priority scholarship deadlines are November 1 for Spring Semester 2015 and December 1 for Fall Semester 2015. Start your application today!

Summer Language Scholarships

Each year, applicants to our degree programs have been invited to apply for prestigious language scholarships for summer study prior to fall enrollment.

Yu/Deppman and Ramaswamy Scholarships

Thanks to a generous gift from an anonymous donor, we are pleased to offer scholarships in honor of Dr. Clara Yu and John Deppman, and Dr. Sunder and Mrs. Varna Ramaswamy, to support students studying language over the summer in preparation for enrolling in a degree program at MIIS. Applicants who have been admitted to MIIS and are required or would like to enhance their language skills during the summer are encouraged to apply. Through the Yellow Ribbon Program, we provide full tuition coverage to up to 75 eligible veterans per academic year.

Outside Scholarships

The Monterey Institute's Office of Student Financial Planning maintains a list of Outside Scholarship Information for students to access for additional financial resources. These organizations may provide scholarships, fellowships, and grants to students. We recommend that you research the organizations on this list, along with performing your own scholarship search, to see if you are eligible to apply. All questions regarding eligibility should be directed toward the host organization providing the scholarship.
