Scholarships

The Monterey Institute offers a wide variety of scholarship opportunities for people who apply to our master's and bachelor's degree programs by our priority application deadline. These opportunities include merit scholarships, language scholarships, and scholarships related to service in the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Fulbright, JET, and more!

Merit Scholarships

The Monterey Institute Merit Scholarship does not require a separate application.

Monterey Institute Merit Scholarship

All admitted applicants are considered for the Monterey Institute Merit Scholarship. You must submit your complete application for admission by the priority scholarship deadlines. Our next deadline is June 1 for fall 2013 admission.

If you are affiliated with or an alumni of one of the partner organizations below, you may receive preferential consideration for the Monterey Institute Merit Scholarship. See instructions and follow the links for more information, as this does require a separate written statement.

Summer Language Scholarships

Each year, applicants to the Monterey Institute degree programs may also be eligible for language study scholarships prior to fall enrollment. Please follow links below:

Betty and David Jones Language Scholarship

This scholarship offers students the opportunity to take advantage of the combined language and international study resources of the Monterey Institute and Middlebury Language Schools. Only new applicants for degree programs at the Monterey Institute are eligible. Apply by February 1, 2013.

Kathryn Davis Language Fellowship

These fellowships are made possible by a $1 million gift from Kathryn Davis to address today’s critical need for more effective language proficiency. Candidates for 2013 may apply directly to Middlebury Language Schools. The deadline is January 14, 2013 and awards will be announced on March 8, 2013.

If you are affiliated with or an alumni of one of the programs below, you may receive preferential consideration for the Monterey Institute Merit Scholarship. Fulbright Alumni

U.S. and international students who have completed a Fulbright are eligible.

JET Program Alumni

Japan Exchange and Teaching Program Alumni are eligible.

Peace Corps

RPCVs who have completed their service are eligible for the Fellows Program.

Omprakash

Alumni of Omprakash volunteer programs are eligible

Rotary International

Rotary selects two Scholars annually for this opportunity.

World Teach

Alumni of World Teach programs around the world are eligible.

City Year

City Year corps members, alumni, and staff are eligible.

Americorps

All Americorps VISTA, NCCC and State & National volunteers are eligible. Segal fund available.

Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS)

Members of BGS are eligible for a scholarship for the One Year Advanced Entry MBA.

Teach for America

Alumni of Teach for America are eligible.

Veterans' Benefits

The Monterey Institute offers matching funding to government benefits for full tuition to eligible veterans.

United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corp

UNCF students may be eligible for accelerated entry and scholarship funding.

UCLA Extension

UCLA Extension Business Studies

The Monterey Institute offers a $10,000 merit scholarship to qualifying students for Fisher MBA program.

The Language Flagship

Preparing the next generation of language professionals with a $16,000 merit scholarship.

Outside Scholarships

The Monterey Institute's Office of Student Financial Planning maintains a list of Outside Scholarship Information for students to access for additional financial resources. These organizations may provide scholarships, fellowships, and grants to students. We recommend that you research the organizations on this list, along with performing your own scholarship search, to see if you are eligible to apply. All questions regading eligiblity should be directed toward the host ogranization providing the scholarship.
