JET alumni qualify for the scholarship if they meet certain eligibility criteria:
- JET alumni must meet the requirements for admission to Monterey Institute degree programs.
- Applicants are required to have completed their JET service by the time of enrollment, though they may be currently serving during the time of application.
Monterey Institute Merit Scholarships are available to JET alumni as a result of a partnership between the Institute and JET, and due to the language skills and intercultural competencies of JET alumni. To apply and receive preferential consideration:

For Fall semester there are three rounds of scholarship selection: December 1, February 1, and March 1. For Spring semester the priority deadline is October 1. Apply online by one of our scholarship deadlines.
