City Year alumni, staff, and corps members are eligible for a MIIS Merit Scholarship of a minimum of 25% of tuition.
The Institute and City Year are partnering to provide scholarships to qualified alumni, staff, and corps members. Applicants who demonstrate their commitment to service through City Year programs are recognized and valued through this new partnership with the Institute. Learn more about the degree programs offered by the Institute.
City Year alumni, staff, and corps members qualify for the scholarship if they meet certain eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must meet the requirements for admission to the Institute degree programs.
- Scholarships will be awarded to City Year corps members or alumni who have successfully completed at least one year of service and to City Year staff members employed for at least two years.
A minimum of 25% of tuition is offered to eligible applicants. The number of scholarships provided will be limited to 7 candidates per academic year, renewable in subsequent years of the program up to 3 years (which would cover some dual/joint degrees as well as the BA/MA degree).
All City Year alumni and staff that graduate from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies will be identified as the Institute / City Year National Service Scholars and will be recognized as such.
MIIS Merit Scholarships are available to City Year alumni, staff and corps members as a result of a partnership between the Institute and City Year. To apply and receive preferential consideration:
- Submit your completed application for admission to a degree program plus all support documents including transcripts, test scores, letters of recommendation, resume and statement of purpose by the priority scholarship deadline. For Fall semester there are three rounds of scholarship selection: December 1, February 1, and March 1. For Spring semester the priority deadline is October 1. Late applications will be considered for scholarships on a funds-available basis. Apply online by one of our scholarship deadlines. Or fill out a paper application, as the Institute will waive the application fee for all paper applications completed by City Year corps members, staff, and alumni.
