Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey

All students are required by the federal government to complete exit counseling when you leave school, are taking less than 6 credits during a semester, or no longer receive federal funds.

Each semester the Financial Aid Office conducts an exit information session that goes over the loans, responsibilities, and benefits that you may receive as a borrower of Federal Stafford or Federal Graduate PLUS Loans.  We encourage all students to attend this session to increase successful repayment of your federal loans.

In addition to attending this session, ALL students are required to complete the Exit Counseling that is completed online at www.nslds.ed.gov.  Students will be required to take a quiz after reviewing each stage of the counseling.  When you are completing the information online make sure that you have contact information for three different personal references.

If you have a Federal Perkins Loan you will be required to complete a second online exit interview by going to www.uasexit.com.  You will need references in order to complete this session as well.

If you fail to complete the exit counseling online through www.nslds.ed.gov, the Records Office will put a hold on your official academic transcripts and/or diploma.
