Our special programs have different application procedures and requirements. Please consult specific programs for more details.

Language Teaching Certificate Programs

Current students and language teaching professionals can enhance their training through our Language Teaching Certificate programs. These programs include the Language Program Administration, the Teaching English to Speakers of Others Languages, and Teaching Foreign Language specializations.

The admissions process and requirements are the same as those for degree programs. Please follow the application instructions.

International Policy and Management Certificate Programs

We offer one year policy and management certificate programs for individuals who have a graduate degree and several years of professional experience. Certificates are available for the following fields: Nonproliferation, Trade, Environmental Policy, Conflict Resolution, and Business Foundations.

The admissions process and requirements are similar to those for degree programs. However, there are no language requirements. Please follow the application instructions.

Design, Partnering, Management and Innovation

Each winter and summer graduate students and professionals attend our Design, Partnering, Management and Innovation, a certificate program for international development professionals, to the learn communication and organizational tools necessary to thrive in the development field. This program is held at two locations: Monterey, CA and Washington D.C.

To apply, please apply online: Summer Program or Winter Program. Be sure to submit a personal statement, resume, and unofficial transcripts. If you are currently enrolled at the Institute, simply complete the application. We applications on a rolling basis. The priority deadline is April 1st for the summer programs and October 31st for the winter programs. We will admit applicants after these dates based on available space.
