Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey

This program is for aspiring or career-building international development and social change practitioners who are seeking a professional certificate in program design, partnering, management, and innovation (DPMI).

About the DPMI Certificate

You'll gain the program design, evaluation, strategic partnering, and facilitation skills needed to launch or advance a career in international development, joining a global network of over 1,300 DPMI alumni tackling the world's most pressing problems. This hands-on training with a client organization allows participants to engage in a highly interactive, participatory, student-centered learning community to:

    • Design and manage real-world projects
    • Facilitate participatory community development
    • Promote social entrepreneurship and strategic partnering

 

The two or three week certificate training is offered during January in Monterey, California and Rwanda and in May/June in Monterey, California and Washington, DC.

 

DPMI project-based trainings have also been offered in Cairo, Egypt, Medellín, Colombia and in Washington, DC.

  • Practitioners seeking to gain expanded career opportunities can benefit from this professional graduate certificate taught by internationally renowned development specialists with extensive academic and practical field experience.
