All FMS trainings allow participants to earn a professional certificate in impact investing and social enterprise management and join the FMS and Monterey Institute-Middlebury College global alumni network.

FMS participants also receive preferential review for Monterey Institute graduate degree programs should they decide to apply for a graduate degree in conjunction with the FMS program or as an FMS alumnus.

Monterey

Focus: Seed-stage investment and social enterprise management in regions around the world.

Location: Monterey Institute of International Studies campus in downtown Monterey, California in close proximity to Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay area.

Dates: January 12-23, 2015

Unique Qualities: This is where it all started back in 2011!  The training prepares is a point of entry for field experience fellowships in 15 different countries including placements at internationally-focused social enterprises based out of the United States. As a part of the training experience, FMS Monterey participants are connected networking opportunities in the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. 

Amsterdam (de Baak)

Focus: Seed-stage investment and social enterprise management in regions around the world.

Location: The Hub Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Dates: February 16-27, 2015

Unique Qualities: Training is based in Amsterdam, a historic, cosmopolitan, commercial hub for Europe and coordinated by the De Baak Management Center. The founding motivation for de Baak was inspired by the Humanist tradition of the 1950s and pioneered the understanding of the human side of enterprise. The training is conveniently located for European, Middle Eastern, and African participants. The program includes optional site visits and guest speakers that draw on the emerging social enterprise sector in Holland.
