Frontier Market Scouts

Frontier Market Scouts 2011

The Frontier Market Scouts Program selects and trains compassionate and capable young professionals to become talent scouts and investment managers serving local entrepreneurs and social-minded investors in low-income and weak-capital regions of the world.

The scouts provide due diligence for investors and technical assistance for entrepreneurs with the goal of generating high-quality deal flows and supporting portfolio companies at a low cost.

The program consists of a 2-week training in Monterey, California in January. The training prepares fellows field assignments around the world that last up to 12 months.

Those with a strong interest in enterprise development and impact investment at the Base of the Pyramid, a solid business or management background, and an excellent aptitude for cross-cultural immersive professional learning are eligible to apply for the FMS Program. The Institute students in any degree program may apply. Outside participants who are advanced undergraduates, graduate students, career-changers, or junior professionals are also welcome.
