Locations

DPMI in Monterey, California is offered on the Monterey Institute of International Studies campus.

DPMI in Washington, D.C. is held at Middlebury Offices. There are hundreds of international development organizations headquartered in the DC area that participants are encouraged to connect with while in DC. Accommodation near the training is available through the Monterey Institute at a group rate of $40/night for shared rooms.

DPMI in Rwanda will be offered at Partners in Health in Rwinkwavu, Rwanda with two days of site visits in Kigali and the surrounding region.

DPMI in Kenya will be held in Nairobi.

Schedule

The class meets five days each week on weekdays, leaving ample time in the evenings and during rest days between modules to explore the area and attend events being held at development organizations. Students have Saturdays and Sundays free during the three-week program. As noted above, the schedule for DPMI Rwanda and DPMI Kenya are slightly different.

Program Fees

Note: Lodging and food not covered unless noted.

Monterey: $2,500 ($1,500 for MIIS students)

Washington, DC: $2,500 ($1,500 for MIIS students)

Rwanda: $2,500 ($1,400 for MIIS students) Fee includes lodging, food, and some local transportation.

Rwanda Local Culture Immersion: $1,500 ($1,000 for MIIS students) Fee includes local transportation to meetings with key government and NGO leaders.

Kenya: To be announced November 2014.

*Airfare, vaccinations, visa fees, and other misc. travel costs not included in program fees.
