Development Project Management Institute

Prepare for an international development career by attending the Development Project Management Institute, a three-week professional training program held twice a year in Monterey and Washington D.C.

Disaster Recovery Institute International

Earn a professional certificate in business continuity planning and disaster prepardness from the Monterey Institute and the internationally-recongized DRII. Corresponding semester-long course option available.

Frontier Market Scouts Program

The Frontier Market Scouts program provides participants with a three-week training on the essentials of business modeling, social impact investing, and base of the pyramid market strategies. Training participants can then embark on field assignments that provide due diligence to entrepreneurs and investors with the ultimate objective of helping to generate high-quality deal flows for social impact investment in developing countries.

Professional Development

If you’re an executive or skilled professional, our Executive and Continuing Education programs will help you and your team develop a new skill-set through customized trainings led by subject-area experts. We offer short courses in International Trade Strategy; Terrorism, Bioterrorism, and Pandemics; Youth Movements and Social Media; Environmental, Social, and Governance Risks, and more.

Development Practicum

The DPMI Development Practicum (DPMI Plus) is an academic and professional program in which students complete a 3-9 month internship, applying skills from the DPMI certificate training, to benefit a host organization.

Ocean Leadership Practicum

Using an authentic ocean conservation challenge, develop practical skills for working with diverse groups, implementing feedback and coaching from your peers and creating lasting change in this week-long Ocean Leadership Practicum.

Our Peace, Trade & Development program is designed for undergraduates, aspiring graduate students, and professionals who are interested in pursuing careers in the trade, economics, and development fields.

Designed for international undergraduate students seeking an immersive professional experience, our International Undergraduate Business Training provides a certificate in trade and development over a three-week summer course.  

MiddCORE@Monterey

MiddCORE is a mentor-driven, intensely interactive and highly competitive course focused on developing new solutions to wicked social problems.

Weekend Workshops

Every semester we offer weekend workshops to our students on a wide variety of topics from "Grant Writing" to "International and Corporate Venture Capital" to "Counterterrorism". If extra space is available in these workshops, they will be open to interested professionals, community members, and students from other educational institutions.
