Marques Watson is a second-year student in the Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies Masters Program. He currently specializes in the study of Terrorism in the Middle East and North Africa and Islamist Terrorism. Other areas of interest include WMD Terrorism, Special Operations in Counterterrorism, and insurgency in West Africa. Modern Standard Arabic is his language of study. Originally from South Central Los Angeles, Marques graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2012 with a B.A. In Political Science. He is currently working as a graduate research assistant with MonTREP. Marques plans to use his language skills and subject expertise in an advisory and/or consulting role after graduation.
