The Monterey Terrorism Research and Education Program and the student-run Terrorism Studies Club jointly host a brown-bag lunch speaker series. This series invites professionals in fields related to terrorism studies to give hour-long lunch-time presentations about their career and work in the field.

Terrorism Studies Club Meeting: “ISIS/ISIL/IS --- Creating Opportunities from Chaos.”

Please join use for a special briefing from BG (Ret.) Russell Howard on the Islamic State. This will be a dry run for his upcoming TEDx presentation.

BG Russell D. Howard is an Adjunct Professor and the former Director of the Monterey Terrorism Research and Education Program (MonTREP). Previously, General Howard was the Director of the Jebsen Center for Counterterrorism Studies at the Fletcher School, and Head of the Department of Social Sciences and the Founding Director of the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point. 

He is President of Howard's Global Solutions, a Senior Fellow at Joint Special Operations University, Senior Mentor for Development Alternatives Incorporated, Senior Advisor for the Singapore Home Team Academy, and on the Board of Advisers for Laser Shot Incorporated.

Dr. Tristan Maybry from the Naval Postgraduate School will be speaking about his new book, 'Nationalism, Language and Islam', and the recent events involving the Uyghur population in Xinjiang, China.
